WOW! Mrs. Boudouris's lunch was beautifully presented, delicious to eat, and gratefully appreciated by all. Thank you so much, Miss Susan. We ate family style in the music room which gave us the opportunity to relax and have good table conversation.
Did you know that one thing that most high-achieving students have in common is eating meals regularly with their families? Studies have shown that children who eat regular meals with their families (with no television, media, or texting going on) not only have better performance in school, but are less likely to use drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, less likely to be involved in early sexual behavior, and are better nourished. Studies show that the time families spend together conversing and sharing with each other at meals are more important than the food.
We will be going to the Chesapeake Planetarium on Thursday, 2/23, and to the Mareiner's Museum for Civil War Living History Day on 3/09. Cost is $13 and children need to bring a bag snack, lunch, and drinks. Students may also bring money for the gift shop, but are responsible for keeping it themselves. We will depart GEC at 8 AM SHARP and return by dismissal, traffic allowing.
