About the Teachers
The 4th and 5th grades are an integrated multiage class with two teachers:
Joanna Rinehart and  Amy Boudreaux.  For Information about Mrs. Boudreaux, please see the  4th grade page.

About The Teachers

A Chesapeake native and proud Great Bridge Wildcat, Joanna Seagle Rinehart holds a B. S in 
Sociology from O.D.U., and worked as a social worker at Norfolk Social Services. She has done 
graduate studies  at  V.C.U., N.S.U.,  and O.D.U., completing an M.S.Ed. in Education with 
specialty in reading from ODU.  She and her husband are members of Christ and St. Luke's 
Episcopal Church in Norfolk.  In addition to teaching, Joanna is a YMCA-certified water aerobics 
instructor as well as being a classically trained soprano, a founding member of both the Virginia
 Chorale and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and has performed in New York, London,
 and Edinburgh.

She is married and has one son who resides in North Carolina with his wife, son, and daughter.

Mission For The Class

Besides Christian development and academic excellence, it is the mission of this class
to develop the following skills for successful living:

D--Decision Making: independent thinking and decision making based on doing what is right
according to Christian principles

O--Organization: being careful of the material resources we have been given and using them wisely
and efficiently

T--Time Management: being good stewards of the time God gives us

S--Self-discipline: developing behavior based on Christian ethics, internal motivation, 
and a sense of responsibility rather than externally based rewards or punishments
