Teacher: Mrs. Linda Rider
I have worked at GEC since its opening and three years prior I worked with Mrs. "C" at another school. I have also had ten years experience in the public school system. I received my education in New York attending State University of New York at Oneonta, earning a B.S. degree in Education with a concentration in Art. My teaching experience encompasses first, second, and third grades. I have been happily married to my husband Jim, for thirty-eight years. We have two wonderful, grown children. Our son, a Chesapeake police officer, is married and has four sons. Our daughter, recently married, is a graduate of U.V.A. and is the Senior Environmental Educational Planner for the Hampton Roads Area. I love teaching young children, being a grandmother, and the serenity of my garden. Mission For the Class
My hope for my students is that they become self confident, eager learners. I hope to build positive self esteem by providing an environment which will contain the kinds of activities that will encourage them to feel good about themselves. It is my hope to incorporate these kinds of activities into each area of the curriculum. |
